Director of Systems Engineering Dr. Ethan Bates and Senior Engineer Matt Waples presented their respective papers during the "ARPA-E ONWARDS and CURIE Project Updates: II" session on Tuesday, June 18. Ethan presented his paper entitled "Reference Shale Host Rock Properties and Chemistries for Deep Borehole Disposal Performance Modeling", and Matt presented his paper entitled "Economic Model Development for Deep Borehole Repositories".

The IAEA conference is intended to provide a forum for the exchange of information on national spent nuclear fuel management strategies. The development of the UCS and its waste acceptance criteria could play a crucial role in the deployment of advanced reactor technology across the global.

The RadWaste Summit is a renowned forum to discuss challenges and solutions to the management and disposition of radioactive waste. This forum is also a powerful relationship-building opportunity to reach some of the most influential government officials and organizations.
