Matt brings a breadth and depth of expertise in mechanical engineering (MS, PE), materials science & engineering (BS), project management (PMP) to his career focused on the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle. He spent the majority of his tenure at Naval Reactors Headquarters managing expended core examinations before gaining experience in utilities strategy consulting. Since 2022, Mr. Waples has led DOE-funded projects, international studies, regulatory and economic analyses, and various other tasks at Deep Isolation.
